Hello :) welcome to a new season! We made it! There is a part of me – the optimist – that just reveres this entrance of the season that is luscious, romantic, hot, ripe, electric summer. There is also a part of me – the catastrophist – that hones in on the fact that the days are only getting shorter…eeeeeep! It feels a bit like celebrating Christmas as a kid…so much lead up and anticipation, and then the actual day comes and there’s this feeling of aw mannnnnn. However, today, let’s stay in celebratory mode, because even the knowledge of days (slowly) getting shorter is an encouragement to seize the day and not ever take these glorious sun-filled days for granted.

Each season I set intentions to imbue the quality of the season into the essence of my day to day. Summer is no different! My intention for this summer, broadly speaking, is to approach every day like a vacation, and, to simplify. I’m actually writing a whole post on this idea of vacation as a state of mind, because it’s just another way of practicing staying curious, finding beauty in the ordinary, romancing your life etc.
